Proclaim: A Testimony from Poland

Dzień dobry (good day)! It is my privilege to give you an update on the 2012 Poland mission trip and to describe its impact on my life. The team left for Poland on June 26 and returned on July 8; it was an amazing adventure! God has proven to me again that He is faithful to sustain us and to show us His love, grace, and mercy. I received a big dose of reality from God this week: He does work all things together for our good and His glory. That seemed to be the re-occurring theme during my two weeks in Poland. The Lord revealed to me that I need to be flexible and eager to listen to His instruction. He showed me that I need to give everything up to Him; my stresses, my anxieties, my past situations, and my burdens, even the ones I take on from friends, and place them all in His hands. In Poland, my gracious Father allowed me to be able to put my struggles to the side when we were ministering to the kids and see His joy and goodness throughout. I was able to pray and communicate with God more than I think I can grasp. He has worked in my heart and life in so many different ways that I am still trying to wrap my head around them and He has blessed me with so many wonderful people in my life. God knows how much I LOVE PEOPLE and He blessed me by allowing me to meet some wonderful new friends in Poland.

The two weeks in Poland have challenged me to both openly share my faith and to grow closer to God every day of my life, sharing it all with Him, even though He already knows and has already planned what else is ahead. The time we were able to minister to the kids and adults was perfect. We met so many amazing Polish kids. I absolutely fell in love with them and they were thrilled to meet us and I think they fell in love with us too. They each were eager to learn the English language. We got to love on these one-of-a-kind kids for a whole week and show them the gospel and our Savior Jesus through our “teaching times” and actions. What touched my heart the most was when one of them would give me a hug and want me to pick them up just so that I could hug them back. One of the boys, Jamic, became a pal of mine. He reminded me of myself at his age. He was funny, expressive, and energetic. He has so much heart inside of him. I believe we were meant to become buddies that week and got to hang out a lot. Jamic would come up to me every day and give me a hug and high five before anyone else. It made my day every morning and brought me joy, and in that, I saw God. God was clearly telling me, “Hey Andy, I am here. I am here to comfort you, protect you and be the All Sufficient God that you have trusted in, so trust Me.” This was one of the best things that could have happened to me.

I have so many fresh memories as well as everyone on the team who went to Poland this year. God definitely worked in my heart, the team’s heart, and everyone we meet in Poland’s heart. Many seeds were planted through the many conversations we had while there. I know that God is faithful and that we will see fruit from this trip in years to come. Thank you for praying with us, financially supporting us, and for loving us.

To God be all the glory,

Andrew Blansett
