Fighting the fight
Wow, I really enjoyed the message last night! It was encouraging to be reminded about how we need to stand firm in our faith whether it is against persecution or temptation. I have posted the quotes from last night...you will find it in the sermon section. Be sure to pull it up and look over it -- Jeff encouraged us to memorize the attributes of God as a means of helping us to challenge our mind to fight the fight with truth founded in Scripture. As he said it, "If we don't have all that information readily available about God, how would we be able to hope in a future, or to fight well in this present life? We wouldn't!"
If you are interested in the songs we sang during worship, they are:
It Was Your Grace
You Alone Can Rescue
Speak, O Lord
Come You Saints
If you check for the quotes sooner rather than later, you may find that the sermon is not uploaded (it will be shortly, so if it is uploaded then the "problem" has been fixed!). The sermon was uploaded until I logged in and accidentally deleted it. Oops! Luckily, I was able to e-mail our super-duper Brian Kaul! He is our amazing, behind-the-scenes, able-to-fix-any-of-Jill's-mistakes tech team member who does the bulk of the work on the blog. I know I easily forget that there are people who work out-of-sight to ensure everyday functions occur. One of these would be the blog. I want to thank Brian for his hard work on the blog! He helps to make information accessible and serves as technical assistance for those of us who regularly have questions or screw things up (both last month and this month I had to send several e-mails to Brian asking for help in posting quotes...maybe one day I'll figure it out). Thanks Brian! I know I definitely appreciate your faithfulness in serving on the tech team. But I know everyone else is grateful for the work you put in to make the blog easy to use (and for running sound at the corporate meetings, and being an all-around servant).
