A Prayer for Compassion Ministry

This past Sunday, for our pastoral prayer, we spent some time praying for our compassion team and different ministries we partner with around Knoxville.  Please continue to pray for these individuals and ministries.  If you would like to serve with our compassion team, please check out this page

"You are the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort we ourselves have received." (2 Cor. 1:3-4)

Thank you for all the ministries in our community that we get to partner with as we proclaim the gospel to those in need.

We pray for Hope Resource Center — deepening partnership with this life-sustaining organization. Pray for the women each week who walk in there. Pray that you would protect those babies. Woman would see hope in Christ.  Provide for those woman support, encouragement, community.
Pray for Andrew Wood, the director, for his vision of reaching those in need with the gospel that all his desires for saving lives would come to fruition.

We pray for Prison Ministry — pray for inmates of the Knox County Detention Center. Our heart’s desire and prayer is that they may be saved. Pray for Jim and Marwan as they have gone down there for many years to preach the gospel. Open the inmates ears to the glories of Christ, open their eyes to behold your love displayed on the cross for them. Pray for the officers at the jail, that they would be impacted by the example of Jim and Marwan and their love and sacrifice.

Pray for Feeding the Orphans and our upcoming medical mission trip. Pray for the advance of the gospel on a continent plagued with brokenness. That this team would bring light to the darkness and hope to the hopeless. We pray for the pastors conference we are putting on there — that these pastors would be encouraged and equipped and this conference would be a source of sustaining them so that they would not grow weary in doing good.

Pray for Inasmuch United Knoxville. That you would use our upcoming service day to grow our hearts and desire to serve those in our community and specifically the community around Sarah Moore Green School. We pray for the teachers and staff at Sarah Moore Green. Encourage them and strengthen them. We pray for the kids — provide the resources they need to learn — books and school supplies. Provide mentors for them. Pray for all those children that you would put Christians in their lives who love them and teach them and pray for them.

So many opportunities around us to care for those in need, to welcome them, encourage them, share the good news of Christ with them.

Pray for our whole compassion team — give them wisdom and discernment and open doors for gospel ministry. Pray that we would follow their Christlike example and humility.

We say “thanks be to God, who in Christ always leads us in triumphal procession, and through us spreads the fragrance of the knowledge of him everywhere.” (2 Cor. 2:14)

In Jesus name,
