cornerstoneU_logo_finalWhile Cornerstone University is a university with no accreditation, no graduate studies, and no diploma, it is also a university with no tuition and no exams! Nevertheless, it is a university with a grand vision—to have our minds renewed by the Word of God, to see who God is and live in light of his Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.”

So, through regular classes, on Sunday morning and various evenings, Cornerstone University affords us an opportunity to learn together from God's Word.

2019 Classes (every Sunday at 8:45 am):

September—Words of Life: What Is the Bible and How Should We Read It?

Our reading of Scripture takes on new meaning and life when we better understand what it is and why God gave it to us. In this class, we will explore God’s relationship to Scripture, how and why Scripture came to be, how the Bible operates as God’s word, how God desires his people to engage with Scripture, how Scripture guides and transforms readers, and much more. Understanding these concepts about Scripture provides a key foundation to every Christian’s life in God.

October—Joined to Jesus: The Beauty of the Believer’s Union with Christ

Every gift of the believer’s salvation arises from being united to Jesus Christ. Our union with Christ in his death and resurrection provides the basis for our own death to sin, strength to live by faith, and hope for eternal resurrected life. We have every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places because our lives are hidden with Christ in God. Most significantly, we have eternal reconciliation and communion with God by virtue of being joined to Jesus by faith. In this class, we will explore the inexhaustible riches of this central reality of the believer’s union with Christ.

November—“Oh How I Love Your Law”: The Commands of God in the Christian Life

God has given many commands in Scripture, but how should Christians relate to those commands? Should Christians keep the laws of the Old Testament, even after the coming of Jesus? Does Jesus himself give us commands and expect us to follow them? Are God’s commands burdensome or do they enable flourishing and joy? Thinking about Gods commands may not inspire excitement, but learning the place and purpose of biblical commands is one of the most important questions Christians can explore for knowing God and experiencing life under his covenant love.
