School of THE Rock
Ages 12+
June 24 - June 26, 9 am to 12 pm
Cost is $50 per kid
School of THE Rock is for kids 12 and up who want to start learning how to use their instruments to serve the local church. No matter your current skill level, no matter your natural talent or learned technical abilities, there is always more to learn about music.
At this camp you will have the opportunity through three different sessions to learn how to use your gifts to serve the local church. We will talk through basic improvisation, the popular "Nashville Numbers" system, parts development, and more!
This camp is “bring your own instrument” (except drums, then it’s “please bring your drumsticks and practice pad (if you have one)”

Boy Survival Camp:

June 10th - 14th. 9 am to 11 am.

My name is Andrew McDonald and I teach 1st grade at Alcoa Elementary School. I attained Eagle Scout at 18 and I have been in the Air National Guard for 20 years. Many experiences through living life, being in the military, and living in another country for several years has taught me the importance of being prepared. This summer will be my 7th summer teaching survival camp at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville. I love seeing children learn to work together as a team and have the opportunity to talk through scenarios that might not go perfectly. We have so much fun together learning about the world around us and how to interact through some of its challenges.  The camp motto is “Learn.  Grow.  Lead.”  Children learn skills and grow through practice until they are able to lead others in these activities.
I currently hold a CPR  AED Certification through the American Heart Association.  There will be middle and high school boys supporting this camp under my direct leadership.  Many have worked this camp for two or more years.  My goal is to have one leader for every 6-7 children.
Survival Camp #1 Boys 6-12 $60 for first child $40 for each sibling. Bring a water bottle, clothes to get dirty in, and I will provide a snack. If you have questions call (865) 548-0415 or email amacteach@icloud.com.

Girls Survival Camp:

This summer will be my 3rd summer teaching Girl’s survival camp at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville.
My wife will help Co-Lead this camp with me.  She is a Co-op teacher at Cornerstone Church of Knoxville and has previously taught 5th grade.

Survival Makers Camp:

June 10th - 14th. 3:30 pm to 5 pm.

I have taught Survival Camp at Cornerstone for six years.  Three of those years I hosted at 13-18 year old advanced survival camp.  I have also hosted a stem camp for two years.  I thought I would combine the these and create a Makers Survival Camp.  The intent would be to create:

-How to create your own oven out of a can
-Advanced Fire Building
-How to create a water filter
-And More

This year’s theme is “Delight yourself in the Lord!” From Psalm 37:4. We are going to be talking about how He is truly Delightful and Worthy of all our trust.
